ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions announced more options for its 360° virtual tour, which allows users take a digital look at access control in various building settings: a university, a K-12 school and a hospital.
“There is no one-size-fits-all approach to facility security,” said Jeremy Saline, senior director of business development, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas, in a statement. “Each setting has its own set of challenges and unique solutions, from the types of rooms to the doors, locks, and the multiple ways in which to manage access within each type of facility.”
Access control has been shaped by various trends in recent years, such as the pandemic and attacks in school environments, notes the company.
In health-care, for example, there has been a trend towards low- or no-touch solutions such as foot pulls and touchless wave-to-open sensors. In K-12, there is a growing assortment of emergency solutions to help protect students and teachers from intruders.
“Being able to visualize these solutions opens up a whole new world to school and hospital administrators,” added Saline. “Ultimately, this isn’t about ‘locking down’ facilities. It’s about providing solutions that give educators and healthcare providers peace of mind so they can solely focus on their main tasks of teaching students and caring for patients.”
