TELUS has launched TELUS SmartWear Security, a line of wearable accessories in the form of jewellery and key charms which connect users to the company’s emergency support and 24/7 monitoring.

The personal items are powered by the company’s wireless network and provide access to the TELUS SmartHome Security’s monitoring team at any time, day or night.

The Canadian telecommunications company launched this line of wearables in partnership with invisaWear, a tech brand based in the United States.

“It’s truly exciting to bring this level of personal security to Canadians. There are so many instances where as a mom and an aunt, I can see SmartWear bringing peace of mind to customers and their loved ones, from young adults walking alone on school campuses, real estate agents doing late showings, or even just taking the dog out at night,” said Zainul Mawji, executive vice-president and president, home solutions & customer excellence in a statement.

“By simply double-clicking your wearable device, you can immediately alert selected contacts and share your geolocation. It’s empowering our customers with technology that immediately connects them to the support they need in an emergency.”

Users can manage their security wearables through a smartphone app which connects to the company’s monitoring service instantly.

In the event of an emergency, users can double click on the device or app and TELUS SmartWear Security will alert preselected five emergency contacts or connect the user to the 24/7 monitoring team for emergency assistance.
