Video Mount Products (VMP), a provider of mounting solutions for the security, commercial, residential, and pro audio/video markets, announced that it is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

“The first flat screen television for consumers as we know it was introduced in 1997, and we were around for years even before that,” said Keith Fulmer, president of Video Mount Products, in a statement. Fulmer joined VMP in 1996. “In 1994, and until flat screens became affordable to the masses well into the 21st century, big and boxy tube televisions were all the rage. VMP quickly became a favourite for mounting these bulky CRT’s onto walls and from the ceilings of bars, restaurants, K-12 and college environments, and other commercial venues.”

For the past three decades, Stevensville, Md.-based VMP evolved along with an ever expanding A/V industry into a supplier of flat panel mounting solutions, from installations in educational, institutional, and religious applications to lodging, sports venues, residential, health care, and restaurants, states the company.

Thirty years ago, VMP began as an OEM project to provide mounts for a handful of Maryland electronic distributors whose customers were handling multiple TV installations in small venues. The line began with a product offering of six items and now offers nearly 200 SKUs.

“While we began strictly offering TV mounts for CRTs, we now provide an extensive line that includes mounts for flat panels and projectors as well as equipment racks and cabinets for data and A/V installs,” Fulmer added. “Thirty years is certainly a milestone to be proud of, especially in our market. However, we celebrate every single year because we are incredibly thankful for our customers and partners and we wouldn’t be celebrating three decades in the business without them.”
