Security ONE donates surveillance system to Windsor non-profit

An Ontario-based security provider Security ONE Alarms has donated a smart security and video surveillance system to the Windsor Bike Kitchen, a Windsor, Ont.-based non-profit social enterprise that teaches bike mechanics and repair to the local community.

The Windsor Bike Kitchen was recently the victim of a break-in, with more than $10,000 of product stolen. “The thieves knew exactly what they were looking for,” said Bike Windsor Essex executive director Lori Newton in a statement. “It’s really sad to think, but it appears this was a professional group of bike thieves. They cherry-picked the best bikes, knocking over bikes to get to the more valuable ones in the back.”

When they learned of the burglary, staff at Security ONE responded with a donation of security equipment to help deter future crimes. “We’re installing smart video surveillance cameras with a streaming video recorder that will allow for very powerful analytics of the footage that can be accessed from anywhere,” said Corey Robertson, sales and marketing manager, Security ONE. “With our 5 Diamond award-winning central monitoring station, they’ll have an extra set of eyes on the property 24 hours a day.”

“Words cannot express our gratitude to Security ONE for helping out with much-needed security for our new shop,” added Newton.
