Sam Shalaby becomes new owner and CEO of Wavestore

Sam Shalaby, the Ottawa-based entrepreneur and founder of Feenics, is the new owner and CEO of Wavestore, a developer of video management software and analytics for the security industry.

According to Wavestore, Shalaby’s leadership “will accelerate Wavestore’s expansion into new markets and enable the company to deliver leading-edge, customer-focused solutions to an even larger audience… [his] knowledge and expertise will serve as a catalyst to further extend the reach of Wavestore’s video management solutions.”

“I’m thrilled to join forces with the talented team at Wavestore,” said Shalaby in a statement. “I believe my guidance will enable us to unlock Wavestore’s full potential in the market.”

“We’re focused and committed to investing heavily in product development,” added Mark Claxton, managing director, Wavestore. “Our suite of video analytics tools, integrations and accessible, actionable data is truly transforming how people see their world.”

Plans for Wavestore include new partnerships and expansion to new locations in Canada, the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.

Shalaby’s previous company, Feenics, a provider of cloud-based access control solutions, was acquired by ACRE in 2021. He is also the founder of Future Security Controls (FSC), acquired by Convergint Technologies in 2013. Shalaby was inducted into the SP&T News Hall of Fame in 2022 for his contributions to the security industry in Canada.
