Honeywell to combine security and fire safety businesses
Honeywell announced Tuesday that it is combining the Honeywell Security Group (HSG) and Honeywell Fire Safety (HFS) businesses to form the new Honeywell Security and Fire (HSF) business unit within Honeywell Automation & Control Solutions (ACS). Employees were notified that morning.
According to a statement issued by the company: the new business will be led by David Paja, who will service as president, HSF, reporting to Alex Ismail, president and CEO of ACS. Paja, who joined Honeywell in 2003, most recently served as president of Honeywell Security Group.
Gary Lederer, president of the legacy Honeywell Fire Safety business, will focus on projects supporting the integration of the businesses until 2016, when he will retire.
The statement continues:
This is an exciting opportunity for Honeywell and its customers. The creation of this new business unit underscores the company’s continued commitment to strengthen the depth of its technology and product offerings. These businesses are a natural fit because of their shared long legacy of life-saving innovation that has made them leaders in the industry.
Honeywell Sales leaders within the legacy HSG and HFS businesses will remain in place to ensure continued focus on their customers’ success. The company remains committed to supporting its customers with the same level of reliable and quality products, service and delivery throughout this process, with a focus on transparency and open communication.
