Hockey Day in Peel on April 18 to benefit Crime Stoppers

March 18, 2024  By  SP&T Staff

On April 18, the inaugural “Hockey Day in Peel” will provide an opportunity for security professionals and first responders to play a few hours of friendly hockey in support of Peel Crime Stoppers.

The event will be hosted at Century Gardens Recreation Centre in Brampton, Ont., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Play will be pick-up style, with an emphasis on fun and networking in support of a great cause.

“We’re doing this to raise awareness and funds for Crime Stoppers and to help keep the community safe,” said Imran Hasan, chair of Peel Crime Stoppers.

Hasan said he anticipates a great turnout from security professionals and first responders alike. “I’m getting a lot of positive response,” he said. “We’re already getting people registering online. This is an opportunity to bring communities together.”

With two rinks available, Hasan expects there will be plenty of ice time for everyone who wants to participate. Refreshments and snacks will also be served at the event.

The event is sponsored by Graybar Canada. Additional sponsorships are available with all proceeds benefiting Peel Crime Stoppers. The facilities were generously donated by the City of Brampton and SP&T News is participating as official media sponsor.

For details on registering for the event as a player or getting involved as a sponsor, visit the Hockey Day in Peel website.
