dormakaba’s Mesker to become Mesker MBM LP following sale

May 4, 2022  By SP&T Staff

dormakaba has signed an agreement to sell its Mesker hollow metal doors business to Trimco and Metal Manufacturing Industries/MMI.

The company expects the sale to close by the end of June later in 2022, and by this time Mesker will operate under a new entity known as Mesker MBM, LP.

Trimco is a manufacturer and designer of architectural hardware products. MMI manufactures hollow metal doors and frames in Mexico and exports its products to Central and South America.

“The key principals of the new Mesker MBM organization are proven industry veterans with a strong, customer-centered vision for advancing the hollow metal doors business, with a comprehensive product offering, reliable operations, and responsive regional service centres,” said Alex Housten, president of dormakaba Region Americas in a statement.

“Although dormakaba will no longer manufacture hollow metal doors, our architectural specifications team will continue to support Mesker as a PROAlliance partner by writing specifications across the full architectural solutions offering from dormakaba, Trimco, ABH Manufacturing, NGP, and Mesker.”

dormakaba acquired Mesker in late 2016, bringing with it the Design Hardware product line which includes the hollow metal door business.

The hollow metal doors business operates under the Mesker, HMX, and WDX brand names in four locations: Phoenix, Ariz.; Huntsville, Ala.; Mesquite, Texas; and Deerfield Beach, Fla.
