CES will require proof of vaccination for attendees

According to a statement released by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the next CES conference will require in-person attendees to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.

CES is scheduled to take place Jan. 5-8, 2022 in Las Vegas.

“Based on today’s science, we understand vaccines offer us the best hope for stopping the spread of COVID-19,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “We all play a part in ending the pandemic through encouraging vaccinations and implementing the right safety protocols. We are taking on our responsibility by requiring proof of vaccination to attend CES 2022 in Las Vegas.”

The CTA also said it is assessing the possibility of accepting proof of a positive antibody test. “Safety, security and health are a priority at CES, and we will follow state and local guidelines and recommendations by the CDC. CTA will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation and will announce additional or modified protocols closer to the show,” stated the association.

More than 1,000 companies are expected to participate in CES — the event will showcase the latest in smart home, space tech, digital health, food tech, gaming, automotive and much more. Digital access to the show will also be available for those unable to attend in person.
