Ajax Systems technology deployed to protect Banksy art in Ukraine

According to a recent Ajax Systems blog post, its technology is being used to monitor and protect Banksy art in Ukraine.

The famous graffiti artist is known to have painted several murals in war-ravaged Ukraine last year. To help prevent theft or damage of the art (one theft attempt was already foiled), Ukrainian security company Ajax has installed wireless security systems at Banksy paintings in Borodyanka, Irpin and Horenka. The art is also being monitored 24/7 by the Sheriff security company.

Ajax technology in use at the Banksy sites includes panels, motion detectors and sensors that react to shock and vibrations. According to Ajax, the Banksy protection project was initiated by the Kyiv regional military administration and local administration.

“We are grateful to Ajax Systems for fast responding and protecting the paintings,” states Heorhii Yerko, acting head of the village council of Borodyanka, in the blog post. “These art objects are war artifacts that we must preserve for Ukrainians.”
