The company describes the program as taking a holistic approach, from product  development to customer delivery.

“Our Cyber Protection Program was born from our unique and broad experience in complying with government regulatory standards and meeting the highly complex needs of multinational deployments,” said Steve Carney, senior director, integration platforms, Tyco Security Products, in a statement. “Our deep understanding of these regulatory rigours helps us to better partner with our customers to more effectively mitigate risks from hackers, activists or other malicious threats when it comes to their physical security systems.”

Tyco says it performs evaluations and tests on devices and systems, and submits products for third-party security testing, to discover and respond to potential vulnerabilities. It also offers guidance to customers to help them comply with standards like FISMA and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).

The Tyco product lines that are currently part of the cyber-security program include Software House, American Dynamics and Illustra, with more coming on board in the future.
