TMA publishes new ANSI standard

In its effort to reduce the occurrence and impact of false dispatches, The Monitoring Association (TMA) has released the latest revision of its ANSI-accredited standard, TMA CS-V-01-2020.

The association says this standard takes alarm verification and confirmation to its next level by defining multiple-attempt confirmation, biometric, audio and video confirmation.

“I am passionate about standards. Having had the experience of both contributing to the development of industry-wide standards and implementing them within security-focused organizations, I am intimately familiar with the distinct value and benefits standards offer,” said TMA President Don Young in a prepared statement. “This standard, as ANSI’s development guidelines stipulate, represents the collective contributions of stakeholders who have a role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the alarm response process – including monitoring center staff, emergency response professionals, and law enforcement.”
