The Security Industry Association (SIA) and ASIS International recently announced a partnership to hold a new event called “Security LeadHER,” designed to showcase women in the security profession.

The event will be held June 12-13 at the Hilton Nashville Downtown Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., and will include a reception on the first day followed by conference programming on the second.

“We have done significant work to engage all security professionals to promote, recruit and cultivate the leadership of women for a more inclusive and diversified industry, and see this event as a way to advance this work,” said Kasia Hanson, chair, SIA Women in Security Forum, in a statement. “We look forward to engaging a diverse group of professionals to collaborate with and see this as a preeminent educational, networking and engagement opportunity to strengthen our ability to create impactful and long-lasting change within the security industry.”

The educational programming will focus on two tracks, Leadership and Security Trends, and will feature more than 30 presenters. Starting Feb. 1, event organizers will accept speaker and presentation proposals via the event’s website.

“Whether your passion is leadership, power skills, or diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), or you’d rather share your industry expertise around security innovation, technology, or trends, we encourage you to submit your speaking proposal,” states a press release announcing the event.

The full registration rate is US$495 — SIA and ASIS members are eligible for a US$100 discount.
