Senstar, a perimeter intrusion detection firm based in Ottawa, said in a prepared statement that the addition of Aimetis’s video analytics and management software will provide customers with a broader suite of options. Senstar’s parent company Magal S3 valued the purchase at approximately US$14 million.

“We are very excited to be offering an expanded portfolio of security products to the market. The Aimetis product offering complements that of Senstar, providing additional value for system integrators and customers all under one roof. Our customers can now enjoy our ‘one stop shop’ for outdoor sensors and integrated video assessment, as well as our ability to address new non-PIDS applications,” said Brian Rich, president of Senstar.

According to the company, the ability to combine Aimetis’ VMS and analytics software with Senstar’s perimeter solutions will address customer needs in markets such as energy, corrections, military, health care, retail and education.
