September 21, 2021  By  SP&T Staff

Security & Safety Things recently announced the winners of its second App Challenge, chosen from a pool of more than 30 proposals.

Winners included apps that address seat occupancy detection (developed by noema based in the U.S.) and flood detection (WaterView, based in Italy), and an app that detects video anomalies (Studio Automated, based in the Netherlands).

Overall, 11 new apps were loaded onto Security & Safety Things’ Application Store as a result of the App Challenge.

“The Security & Safety Things open platform for smart cameras provides the ideal framework for developers to help solve real world customer pain points with innovative applications,” said Adam Wynne, head of the Security & Safety Things Innovation Accelerator, in a statement. “The winners of this year’s App Challenge provided some very concrete and effective examples of how smart cameras are adding security and operational value to a variety of different types of organizations.”

S&ST, a subsidiary of Bosch, offers a free and open operating system for security cameras, as well as a development tool kit for app developers, a device management portal and an application store for integrators.
