At the meeting, held Jan. 17, Frank De Fina, Samsung senior vice-president of sales and marketing, recognized attendees from Samsung headquarters and introduced ScanSource in a 45-minute presentation. ScanSource outlined their initiatives and strategy with Samsung and highlighted how their business model works. In addition to naming ScanSource as Samsung’s distributor of the year, the meeting also recognized Mark Cohee, product manager, ScanSource, who was awarded the light-hearted designation of “Dr. of Distributology.”

“It’s great to start off the New Year with some of the best sales professionals in the business,” said De Fina. “We especially appreciate ScanSource’s southern hospitality during our meeting. We look forward to working with our sales force in 2012 as Samsung continues to differentiate itself in the market through technology leadership, IP products and systems, and the Samsung brand.”

After the meeting, the first Samsung IP Institute (SIPI) training sessions were held, launching a nationwide series of SIPI two-day training events planned throughout the United States and Canada in 2012 covering IP video, network design and integration skills.
