STI’s see-through polycarbonate cabinet offers protection for Automated External Defibrillator (AED) units. The cabinet comes with Select-Alert alarm/strobe (STI-735AED), which allows the AED to be highly visible while the alarm helps guard against theft and vandalism. It mounts on the wall and is secured with a thumb lock. With independent strobe and siren timing (15, 30, 60 seconds or continuous), the alarm length can be adjusted for multiple settings.
Eaton introduces its new line of Wheelock Exceder LED3 notification appliances, compliant with the latest National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code requirements for flash duration. The Wheelock Exceder LED3 line includes strobes, horn strobes, horns, speakers, speaker strobes, low frequency sounder strobes, and sounders for ceiling and wall-mount indoor applications. High-fidelity speakers provide leading intelligibility for mass notification and emergency communications. The line has been UL/ULC listed as compatible with all fire alarm control panels and accessories determined to be compatible with Wheelock RSS strobe-based products. Exceder LED3 strobes can also be installed in the same notification zone and field of view with any Wheelock RSS strobe model.
Honeywell released its first-ever professionally installed and monitored wireless combination smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detector for homes. The 5800COMBO is easy for dealers to install and helps to protect homeowners from multiple dangers through continuous central station monitoring, compared to unmonitored detectors. The battery-powered 5800COMBO contains a built-in transmitter that allows central stations outside the home to monitor alarm events in the home – such as smoke and CO gas – as well as monitor for maintenance conditions. It alerts occupants to the danger and transmits a smoke or CO alarm signal to the panel when smoke is detected or when specified levels of CO are reached in the home. The device uses both voice and visual display to alert occupants. Voice notifies the occupant of the threat and announces what action should be taken. A multi-color LED light ring is visible from all sides and angles, providing visual annunciation when there is danger.
BEST SHELTER from STANLEY Security, is a lockdown solution, designed specifically for educational K-12, business and health-care environments. The SHELTER fob by BEST allows for quick communication with the SHELTER wireless system to initiate a lockdown and third-party notification of an event. This multi-purpose fob permits a fast and easy lockdown of one door, hallway or entire building. With assistance from an integration resource, the SHELTER network components can be configured to initiate a signal to a pre-installed access control system or alarm systems, allowing immediate communication with first responders. When the lockdown is initiated from the fob, it is communicated to an attached lockset called the BEST SHELTER 9KX Cylindrical Lockset (9KX).
A host of enriched features and functionality in Zetron’s updated computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system may improve the ways public safety agencies are able to collect and use incident information. BluePoint Alert Solutions announces BluePoint Medical, a new pull-station system designed to directly alert medical response teams when people are requiring emergency medical attention. The system works similar to the BluePoint integrated safety system that speeds response times of law enforcement/first responders and notifies building occupants when life-threatening incidents occur. Similar to a standard “fire alarm,” occupants can activate a BluePoint pull station and instantly notify first responders and building occupants of an emergency situation to expedite a rapid response. BluePoint complements physical security systems and addresses the growing need to speed response times when an organization’s most valuable asset – its people – are in harm’s way.
