PlateSmart partners with VIVOTEK

OLDSMAR, Fla. — PlateSmart Technologies, creator of the ARES automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) software, is partnering with IP surveillance solution provider VIVOTEK Inc.

“VIVOTEK’s focus on perimeter security and traffic monitoring really made our partnership a natural fit,” said Mike Budz, director of sales, PlateSmart, in a prepared statement. “PlateSmart is excited to be working with a global leader like VIVOTEK, and we look forward to joining them in opportunities not only in the U.S. but across the globe.”

PlateSmart says its ARES solution has been implemented throughout South America, Europe and parts of Oceania, and explains further that its technology allows it to successfully read license plates in many different countries. The technology is called automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) outside of the United States.

Shengfu Cheng, director of VIVOTEK’s marketing and product development division, commented, also in a statement, “The demand for ANPR solutions is expected to increase rapidly around the world. Combining PlateSmart’s expertise in ANPR technology with superior performance of VIVOTEK’s network cameras, this partnership drives a sustainable growth in the global market”.
