Pelco opens two new warehouses

Pelco has opened two new warehouse facilities, one in Shanghai, China, and the other in Louisville, Kentucky. The company says these facilities enable it to better service its customers with shorter ship and lead times as well as more cost-efficient shipping for the majority of customers.

“We want to make it easier to do business with us, and these facilities
were designed and planned with our customer’s requirements in mind,”
says Tony Stallings, Pelco vice-president of Global Supply Chain
Logistics. “Opening these facilities is a natural step for us.”

The China, Shanghai Distribution Center opened Aug. 25, 2008. Pelco
product will be warehoused in and shipped from an existing Schneider
Electric China Investment (SECI) facility. After extensive analysis,
teaming with the Schneider facility was the most operationally
beneficial and cost-effective means to allow Pelco to better serve the
growing China market.

The Louisville Distribution Center in Kentucky opened July 1, 2008.
Utilizing 15,000 square feet of warehouse space on the UPS Distribution
Campus adjacent to UPS’ Worldport air hub, Pelco customers will be
serviced by this location and will
ship to the Eastern U.S. and Canada.
