Ontario door and hardware dealer acquires nearby locksmith

William Knell & Company Ltd. (Knell’s), a supplier of industrial supply and door & hardware products in the Waterloo, Ont. region has acquired  locksmith and security services company G&A Lock Service Ltd. (G&A).

According to a press release, the companies have an established 46-year relationship.

“The combination of Knell’s and G&A will provide a complete offering of products and services to assist our customers design, construct and maintain their projects with a wide range of wood and metal doors, hardware and electronic access control systems. We will be able to work with them through the entire lifecycle of a building,” said Robert Dippell, President of Knell’s.

“We are excited to be joining forces with Knell’s who offer a wide array of architectural door hardware, integrated access control systems, automatic door operators, hollow metal doors and frames, wood doors, and miscellaneous construction specialty products that we already service for our customers,” said Glenn Uhrig, President of G&A.

Collectively, the two companies have offices in Kitchener, Waterloo, and Guelph and a combined workforce of almost 80 people. G&A Lock will continue to operate under the G&A brand as a subsidiary and division of Knell’s.  “G&A, like Knell’s, has a long and proud history in Waterloo Region and we feel that its important to continue to build the G&A Lock brand. ” said Mr. Dippell.
