Nortek Control and Alarm.com recently announced the 2GIG New Home Program powered by Alarm.com.
According to the companies, the program is designed as a solution for production and custom homebuilders, combining technologies in the family of 2GIG security and home automation products with the smart home platform from Alarm.com.
In addition to an ecosystem of smart home products, the 2GIG New Home Program powered by Alarm.com supports builders with a range of tools such as community management, design center collaboration, and sales and marketing assets.
Free to the builder, the program is deployed and supported by a network of certified dealers selling 2GIG products and Alarm.com service providers. According to a statement, this gives homebuilders access to proven smart home technology along with a simplified implementation process that doesn’t require specialized installers, allowing them to continue using their existing electrical and HVAC subcontractors for installation during construction.
Leveraging the components of both the 2GIG and Alarm.com traditional builder programs, these combined solutions include complimentary model home gear and merchandising kits, focused sales trainings for realtors and design centre staff, design centre displays, builder marketing toolkits, community management, self-guided model home tours and more.
“Complementing our industry-leading resources, our program gives builders a variety of technology packages they can present to their homebuyers to match their specific needs and lifestyle,” said Bret Jacob, Director of Builder Services at Nortek Control, in a published statement. “From smart home automation to safety and security and outdoor entertainment, each package has been thoughtfully curated to address the most requested technology needs of homebuyers today, and are the type of advanced features they will only get from professionally-installed systems. This package approach enables builders to sell homes faster while making them future-ready today for buyers.”
The Standard package provides the security system, smart thermostats, video doorbell and smart lighting. These were selected because they are the system elements homebuyers request most often in a smart home, according to the company.
“With the award-winning 2GIG EDGE security and automation panel as the cornerstone of the Standard package, homebuilders can increase their competitive advantage by offering the latest technologies that allow homebuyers to personalize their new home,” added Jacob. “We are excited to collaborate with Alarm.com in providing builders an all-inclusive platform that enables multiple property visibility in terms of secure entry, access control and scheduling that their community management dashboard provides. Homebuyers also realize benefits with the Alarm.com platform that includes self-guided tours, which allow them to schedule a tour of inventory or model homes online whenever it is convenient.”
“Alarm.com has enjoyed a long, proven history of successful integration with 2GIG products, so we are thrilled to expand the benefits of our home automation platform to the large network of dealers that sell the 2GIG brand and Alarm.com service providers who are focused on providing smart home technology to homebuilders,” said Shawn Barry, Vice President of Strategic Sales at Alarm.com. “Plus, the standards and options approach to offering technology enables builders to differentiate their projects from other new communities and used homes, giving them the competitive advantage to sell more homes, faster.”
The roll-out of the 2GIG New Home Program powered by Alarm.com will include training, presentations and displays at several upcoming home builder events in Q3 and Q4 2021, culminating with the International Builder Show in February 2022.
