SALTO Systems has introduced EAN13 standardized barcodes into its product packaging.

SALTO Systems has introduced EAN13 standardized barcodes to its packaging to meet the needs of their partners and channels.

The EAN (European Article Number) format uses a 13-digit bar code to identify each product internationally.

The International Article Number is a barcode symbology and numbering system used in global trade to identify a specific SALTO product model. The IAN also identifies the specific packaging configuration with a unique identification number.

SALTO says that using EAN codes across all of its products should enable partners and installers in distribution to reduce their margin of error while operating through their own channels.

The company expects the standardization of product codes should improve warehousing processes and product tracking as the EAN code will allow the company and its partners to obtain information about SALTO products, optimize stock management, product information and operations.

EAN codes can help represent details like the type of lock, cylinder or reader model, manufacturer, country code and technology compatibility.

The company says it will gradually adopt the EAN13 standardized barcodes into SALTO’s complete product range.
