Micro Key Solutions appoints CTO

Micro Key Solutions, a provider of  software solutions for the security alarm industry, announced that Luis Ortega has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer.

Ortega joined Micro Key in January 2000 as a software engineer and has been a key contributor to the Millennium Series software. Ortega has been serving as Director of Programming since 2004 and has been in charge of scheduling, overseeing and implementing all new software enhancements. In the new capacity of Chief Technology Officer, Ortega will be responsible for researching new technologies and applying them to original and innovative products designed to increase the efficiency and profitability of Micro Key’s users.

Micro Key’s President, Victoria Ferro, stated that, “Luis’ experience and leadership is key in ensuring Micro Key continues to navigate into this new era of technology and he is key in supporting my vision and dream of ushering Micro Key’s Millennium Series into the next generation.”

Ortega said, “I’m honored to be entrusted with this new responsibility and look forward to actively researching new technologies and creating new solutions. I will initially be focusing on how to incorporate more cloud and mobile applications into our software. From there, who knows what the future will bring.”
