Marcomm won the award for its integration work on the Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex in Toronto — a brand new facility that came about through a public-private partnership between the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and Carillion Canada, a facilities management company. Marcomm was responsible for installing a huge variety of security equipment, including cameras, card readers, biometric readers, turnstiles, and more on a network housed within the facility. The company was tasked with overseeing installation in a number of different environments, including coroner’s courts, secure labs and cold storage facilities.
“Some of the challenges that Marcomm have met, and done an incredibly good job on, is working through the individual devices and coming up with a robust solution,” says Alan Dawes, facility general manager at Carillion.
“It’s a matter of rolling with the punches sometimes and working with your team to get the best solution,” says Dave Trudel, president of Marcomm.
Marcomm will receive the Integrator of the Year award at a gala event to held in Toronto on Oct. 23. SP&T News extends its congratulations to Marcomm for a job well done. Read the full story on Marcomm in the October issue of SP&T News.
