The firm says voice control is available with all nine models of streaming Portfolio players. Previous purchasers of the system will gain the new voice control features via free software download. To integrate Amazon Alexa voice control, Nuvo Player Portfolio owners will be prompted to download and install the Nuvo 2018.3 Update via the Player Portfolio app and then synchronize with the Nuvo Player Amazon Alexa skill.
“Voice is an essential method of control for today’s technology, and the Nuvo Player Portfolio system can now provide its best-in-class audio experience with this new level of convenience,” said Fritz Werder, Legrand’s VP/general manager for the Nuvo and On-Q lines, in a prepared statement.
Werder continued, “In addition to selecting from a wide range of network connected audio sources, listeners will be able to adjust audio controls such as muting, changing volume, skipping songs or stopping and starting music selections, all without needing to open an app or find a keypad.”
The integration for all Player Portfolio players, including the NV-P100, NV-P200, NV-P300, NV-P400, NV-P500, NV-P600, NV-P3100, NV-P3500 and NV-P4300, will support connected Amazon Alexa Echo, Echo Plus, Dot, Spot and Show devices. Multiple Amazon Alexa devices within a home can be used to control upgraded Nuvo Player Portfolio models.
