L3 managed switch offers physical stacking for up to 8 units
TP-LINK Canada Inc. has announced the company’s first L3 managed switch – the JetStream 28-Port Gigabit Stackable L3 Managed Switch (T3700G-28TQ) – designed for building highly accessible, scalable, and robust networks.
The JetStream T3700G-28TQ features 10Gbps wired-speed, physical stacking and an optional second external power module for additional redundancy. The new managed switch is well suited for enterprise, campus and ISP networks and comes equipped with 24 Gigabit RJ-45 ports, 4 Combo Gigabit SFP and 4 10Gbps SFP+ slots.
Network performance is enhanced with the JetStream T3700G-28TQ’s ability to reduce bandwidth usage: Bandwidth Control can be set for each port using pre-defined thresholds, ensuring an appropriate level of service for users; and multicast technology simultaneously delivers a single stream of information to multiple subscribers.
The JetStream T3700G-28TQ also boasts multiple Layer3 routing protocols, including Static Routing, RIP, OSPF, ECMP and VRRP. These integrated routing protocols provide reliable, high-performance and scalable routing function for a wide range of network installations.
The JetStream T3700G-28TQ offers comprehensive Layer 2 to Layer 4 Access Control List (ACL) for enforcing security to the edge, and can restrict network access by denying packets based on source and destination IP address, TCP / UDP ports or defined typical network applications.
Additional protection features include 802.1x port-based and Mac-based user authentication, as well as RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) Authentication.
True Physical Stacking technology supports up to 8 units for network simplification. Each physical stack can amount up to 192GE, 32 Gigabit combo SFP and 16 10G SFP+, providing up to 320Gbps backplane bandwidth for aggregation network. With all units identified by a single IP address, the stack can be easily configured and monitored.
The JetStream T3700G-28TQ boasts a hot-swappable Power Supply Module (PSM150-AC) and offers an optional external Redundant Power Supply (RPS150).
