Johnson Controls appoints vice-president and general manager, global security and fire

Tammee Thompson recently joined Johnson Controls as vice-president and general manager, global security and fire. Thompson brings nearly 20 years of management experience to Johnson Controls, most recently serving as president of GE Security's Asia Pacific region.

At Johnson Controls she will be responsible for driving growth including strategic planning, global sales and channel development, product marketing and management, product development and sourcing strategies including strengthening strategic partnerships and acquisition activity and continued capability-building in each global region.
 
Thompson will be based in the company’s Milwaukee office and report to John Murphy, vice president and general manager, North America-Systems, Latin America, Middle East and Global Security, Building Efficiency for Johnson Controls.
 
“We see tremendous growth potential in the $100 billion global fire and security market and we are excited about expanding our presence,” said Murphy. “Tammee’s knowledge and background in the industry should help drive that growth and strengthen our position in the market.”
 
Thompson’s professional experience also includes management positions with Ernst & Young, ITT Corp., The Boston Consulting Group and Morgan Stanley & Co.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Georgetown University and a master of business administration degree from Stanford University.
