Honeywell expands Open Technology Alliance

Honeywell has added seven new members to its Honeywell Open Technology Alliance.

Formed in 2010, the alliance is comprised of physical security and IT manufacturers committed to developing open and integrated security solutions for end users, according the the company. New members of the alliance include Exacq, LG, Oncam Grandeye, ImmerVision, Panasonic, Pelco and Sony.

Oncam Grandeye recently worked with Honeywell to integrate its line of 360-degree IP cameras with MAXPRO VMS (Video Management System) and MAXPRO NVRs (Network Video Recorders).

“The open standards set by the industry have provided a sound framework to increase the interoperability of our products with nearly any third-party manufacturer,” said Vince Lupe, Systems marketing leader, Honeywell Security Group, in a statement. “Our open technology alliance advocates making our technologies work seamlessly with other manufacturer devices, helping the end-user customer maximize existing and newer technologies.”  

The alliance is comprised of more than a dozen members including Axis Communications, 3VR Security, IQinVision and Milestone Systems.
