ONVIF hosted its annual membership meeting in late October in Shenzhen, China, held in conjunction with the China Public Security Expo 2013. ONVIF member companies who gathered for the meeting heard presentations on the forum’s progress in 2013 as well as on upcoming releases, including the progress of Profile G for recording and storage, Profile C for physical access control systems and a host of other technical developments planned for 2014.

On Nov. 20, SIA hosted SIA Honors Night: Celebrating Performance, Partnerships and People in the Security Industry, its annual awards and charity dinner, held at The Lighthouse and Chelsea Piers in New York, N.Y. During the ceremony, SIA CEO Don Erickson unveiled the Jay Hauhn Excellence in Partnerships Award in tribute to Jay Hauhn, the outgoing SIA Chairman of the Board.
