According to information posted on the CANASA website, the London Police Service, Ont., has postponed the implementation of its verified alarm response program. Earlier information indicated that May 29 was to be the original launch date for the new program. A new date is forthcoming.

The Monitoring Association (TMA) is the new name of the 67-year-old Central Station Alarm Association. The name change “reflects an adjustment in mission and focus necessitated by growth and changes in the alarm monitoring industry”, the company stated.

Mission 500 raised more than US$55,000 at its second annual Security Softball Game on August 20 in East Meadow, New York. ISC West has unveiled plans for a new event, Unmanned Security Expo @ ISC West, focusing on aerial drones and ground robotics for security applications. The Unmanned Security Expo will take place April 5-7, 2017, at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas within the larger ISC West physical security event, sponsored by the Security Industry Association.

Security alarm company ADT has joined The Partnership for Priority Verified Alarm Response (PPVAR), marking a significant shift in the direction of the electronic security industry, the association says. PPVAR is a public-private partnership comprised of electronic security stakeholders from law enforcement, the home and property insurance industries, and the security alarm industry.

ONVIF hosted its 14th Developers’ Plugfest in early June in West London to allow testing of its standardization initiative for IP-based physical security products. With multiple testings of ONVIF-conformant products, the Developers’ Plugfest included interoperability testing for all six ONVIF profiles, including Profiles Q and A, which are both scheduled for final release in 2016, and Profile T, ONVIF’s newest profile for video that is currently in development.
