Honeywell Security & Communications, has appointed Vincent Dufresene as District Manager for Eastern Canada.Dufresne will be responsible for providing dealer and distributor support throughout Eastern Canada for Honeywell’s full range of residential and commercial burglary products. With 16 years of experience in the security industry, Dufresne began his career in security distribution. Prior to joining Honeywell Security & Communications, he managed ADI Quebec and Montreal Branches for the past 12 years.Vincent Dufresne will be teaming up with Steve Cigana, Technical Manager, both located in Montreal to provide Eastern Canadian dealers and distribution with sales and technical support.

Aimetis Corp., a provider of intelligent IP video management software, announced that it has named David Thompson to serve as vice president of engineering. Thompson has more than 25 years of experience in software development working at a variety of high-tech firms. Most recently, he was senior director of engineering excellence at Blue Coat Systems, where he led the continuous quality improvement initiatives across the 400-plus member engineering organization. Prior to Blue Coat, Thompson served as director of process improvement and special projects at Invensys Process Systems, and director of R&D for i2 Technologies, now part of JDA Software Group. He also served in a variety of engineering leadership roles at Sybase (an SAP Company), Deft Software and Disus. He earned a bachelor's degree in applied science in industrial engineering at the University of Toronto.

Tri-Ed / Northern Video Distribution has announced the promotion of two senior management executives. James Rothstein has been named executive vice-president of sales and marketing. He will be responsible for branch sales in the U.S. market as well as marketing and supplier relations for the organization. Rothstein is based out of the Woodbury, N.Y., corporate office. He has over 20 years of industry experience, the last six of which he served as senior vice-president of Tri-Ed Distribution.   Paul Swan has been named vice-president of sales and marketing, and will be responsible for branch sales in the Canadian market as well as marketing and supplier relations. Swan is based out of the Vancouver, B.C., branch and has over 25 years of industry experience. He has held various roles in distribution for the past 13 years, the last eight of which have been at Tri-Ed Distribution. “James and Paul have each made very significant contributions to Tri-Ed/Northern Video,” says Pat Comunale, president and COO. “We value their experience, leadership and dedication to the company’s success. It is with great pleasure that we announce their new responsibilities.”

Senstar Corp. announced the appointment of Gord Loney as Vice-President of Product Sales.   According to the company, this new position has been created in order to drive product sales globally as it implements a strategy to rationalize its entire product line, develop new technologies and introduce new products.   Loney joined Senstar in 1995 as the product sales manager for Canada, Africa and the Middle East.  He was subsequently promoted to Director of International Sales responsible for Australasia.  Prior to joining Senstar, he spent 25 years in the Canadian Air Force as a fighter pilot retiring in the rank of Lieutenant‐Colonel.   He is a staff college graduate and has a degree in Engineering Physics from the Royal Military College of Canada.   Brian Rich, President of Carp, Ont.-based Senstar, said in a statement: “I have known Gord for most of his career at Senstar and am confident in this new role, he will greatly contribute to Senstar’s ability to further grow our business."   Loney will continue his responsibilities for the Australasia territory for the next 60 days in addition to his duties of working with Senstar’s regional territory managers and sales team to develop and grow product sales globally.

John Van Schepen, vice-president of ADT/Intercon Advanced Integration in Canada is no longer with the organization, effective April 16.   In a statement, ADT spokesperson Ann Lindstrom said, "John Van Schepen was instrumental in the development of Intercon and has played a key role on the leadership team of Advanced Integration. John is leaving ADT and we thank him for his contributions to ADT and to our customers."
