Massive amounts of electronic waste, or e-waste are being generated at an alarming rate. E-waste currently represents 70% of America’s overall toxic waste trash in landfills. Some materials such as lead, cadmium, and mercury, can be toxic and contaminate the environment.
To ensure responsible electronic waste recycling as set forth by The NYS Electronic Equipment Recycling and Reuse Act, IDSecurityOnline.com, partnered with GreenChip Electronic Waste Solutions, an R2 and ISO certified e-waste recycler. Thousands of organizations and consumers in New York can now safely dispose of their printing equipment.
This unique alliance will help collect, process and de-manufacture end-of-life electronics such as card printers to divert hazardous waste and toxins from landfills and protect the environment. Materials are sorted at GreenChip Electronic Waste Solutions’ facility in Brooklyn, NY for proper recycling, while sensitive data storing materials are decommissioned and shredded to ensure all data is kept confidential and secure. Components are carefully stripped to make commodities for new materials and sorted by distinct properties. All material downstream is audited to ensure proper recycling procedures.
“We are very excited about this partnership with GreenChip,” says Gabriel Schonzeit, President of IDSecurityOnline.com. “At IDSecurityOnline.com, we understand that recycling used printers and systems will ultimately protect the health of people and the planet. We are committed to helping customers safely dispose of their end-of-life equipment to lower their environmental footprint and we believe that GreenChip Electronic Waste Solutions is the perfect partner to achieve these results.”
“GreenChip is impressed with ID Security Online’s innovative approach on their progressive way of handling product stewardship, giving their customers and end users a path to responsibly recycle their end of life equipment. We are fully committed and excited to work with ID Security Online” says Bill Monteleone, Managing Partner/ Founder of GreenChip Electronic Waste Solutions.
