Face recognition

Wednesday May 23, 2007
Bioscrypt Inc., a provider of enterprise access control technology, has announced it has partnered with 3VR to integrate its VisionAccess 3D face readers and the VissionAccess 3D DeskCam with the 3VR platform to deliver facial recognition for physical access and identity verification linked to an active analytics engine.
3VR has developed a platform capable of searching various data sources and services to stop losses, speed investigations, and improve productivity.  The addition of Bioscrypt’s VissionAccess 3D face recognition solutions, and the associated identity details, to this platform, offers organizations a greater ability to identify people.

This identification occurs essentially in real time either at the facility entrance using the VisionAccess 3D face reader, or at a closer proximity with the VisionAccess 3D DeskCam. If the person identified was previously placed on a watch list, a security alert will occur and the individual can be monitored.

Bioscrypt’s 3D facial recognition system uses structured lighting to create a facial grid of 40,000 measurable data points. The system performs multiple facial scans and comparisons against a database of stored images and corresponding data, and conducts accurate identification at sub-second speeds, from which authorized persons are confirmed for access.
