Honeywell introduces new self-monitored security package
Honeywell announced the forthcoming launch of a new self-monitored home security package — Honeywell Smart Home Security System. The customizable system, which features Amazon’s Alexa service, is expected to launch in the U.S. at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in January. It is currently available for pre-sale on crowd-funding site Indiegogo at a discounted price through Dec. 16.
According to a press release from Honeywell: “The heart of the Honeywell Smart Home Security System is a camera base station with an integrated 1080p HD camera and 145-degree viewing that will incorporate facial recognition with push notifications so you can know when your child has arrived home safely from school. The camera base station is completely integrated with the Alexa Voice Service, a high-quality speaker and microphone. Easy to install out of the box, the system can be controlled through an app, your voice, and other optional devices.”
The company also reiterated in the statement that it will continue to offer professionally monitored services through its network of dealers.
