Honeywell and 2GIG Technologies settle patent infringement lawsuit

Honeywell and 2GIG Technologies, Inc. today announced the settlement of a lawsuit involving the alleged infringement of a Honeywell patent related to the design of security system panels, known as the “148 Patent.”

The settlement agreement resolves the patent infringement lawsuit filed in November 2009 by Honeywell against 2GIG and Scott Simon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

As part of the settlement, 2GIG will pay for a license to the technology covered under Honeywell’s patents.

All other terms of the settlement remain confidential.

Neither Honeywell or principals from 2GIG would make additional public comments regarding the settlement.
