Hikvision introduces 4K solar-powered video

The camera system is water and dust resistant and has a built-in heater which enables operation in temperatures as low as-4°F.

Hikvision Solar-Powered Security System

City of Industry – Hikvision has introduced the Advanced Series 4K Solar-Powered ColorVu System, a video security system ideal for remote applications where power and internet are unavailable.

User’s can install Hikvision’s ColorVu system without any electrical wiring or network cables. The company says the solar-powered solution is designed for outdoor environments which may become challenging such as construction sites, oil fields, farms, vineyards and rural facilities. The camera is water and dust resistant and has a built-in heater which enables operation in temperatures as low as-4°F.

The new system uses a Hikvision 4K video camera, 80-watt solar panel, replaceable battery pack and mounting bracket. Hikvision claims that the camera’s built-in AcuSense technology can reduce false alarms by up to 90 per cent.

“Our newest solar-powered video security system delivers sustainable and flexible video in remote areas where it is challenging, if not impossible, to run power or cabling,” said John Xiao, vice president of marketing, Hikvision USA in a statement.
