Reed Security acquires another Sask.-based monitoring business

Saskatoon-based Reed Security recently announced it has acquired Detect Security Systems, based in Prince Albert, Sask.
"The sellers of Detect Security, Kurtis and Sharon Riese, were retiring and wanted to transition their client base to local provider rather than a big dealer program," said Virgil Reed, CEO, Reed Security, in an email to SP&T News. "Since we were both dealers of a.p.i. Monitoring, the conversion from one security provider to another was a really easy process — it took less than 24 hours and there were no programming changes."
Reed added that sales inquiries, service calls and sub-contracting opportunities will be managed by Reed Security authorized dealer Thor Security, also located in Prince Albert.
Detect Security is Reed Security's third acquisition in the last two years.
