Graybar Canada honoured at Energy Savings Champion Awards
On March 26, 2014, Horizon Utilities Corporation held its annual Energy Savings Champions Awards in Hamilton. The awards recognized local businesses for implementing innovative energy conservation and demand management projects involving retrofits, lighting fixtures and heating and cooling systems.

The Graybar Canada Hamilton Branch received one of these awards. Horizon Utilities works with participating contractors and suppliers in delivering Conservation and Demand Management solutions to customers. The award received by Graybar Canada recognizes the often unseen hero of many CDM projects – participating contractors. Graybar Canada submitted 21 applications resulting in energy savings of 189 kW and 743,521 kWh.
“We are very pleased to receive the award and be recognized by Horizon Utilities,” said Matt Newman, Branch Manager. “It means a lot to us to be able to contribute to the improvement of our community by sharing our green practices.”
The awards were presented by Max Cananzi, President and CEO, Horizon Utilities during a special luncheon. Joining Mr. Cananzi in honouring these organizations was Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina.
“These community leaders realize it makes good business sense to use the expertise and incentives that Horizon Utilities offers to reduce energy use and save money in their companies,” said Max Cananzi, President and CEO, Horizon Utilities.
