MONTRÉAL— Genetec Inc. has announced plans to unveil Streamvault Edge at ISC West 2022 in Las Vegas.

The Edge platform is a series of connected appliances that will assist in the transition to a hybrid-cloud infrastructure. Interested attendees can visit Genetec’s booth #13062 for a closer look.

Genetec explained in its announcement that the appliances are suitable for varied environments including banks, retail or businesses with remote or “unmanned” locations. The idea behind the appliances is to help users modernize security infrastructure while using existing legacy sensor infrastructure, allowing for a gradual transition to a hybrid system.

Companies interested in deploying Genetec’s latest solution do not need to rely on specialized IT teams because the appliances are designed for easy installation, low maintenance and remote management, according to the company’s announcement.

At its initial launch, Streamvault Edge will focus on delivering a hybrid cloud architecture for enterprise-grade video surveillance, with more security and IoT devices to be supported in the coming months.

“This is just the beginning of a new edge platform strategy, and a more efficient way of delivering our solutions to customers,” said Christian Morin, vice president product engineering and chief security officer at Genetec, Inc.

“We are starting with video, but Streamvault Edge will soon evolve to power a broader range of capabilities from access control to advanced operations technologies.”
