GardaWorld appoints Scott Young to lead security systems division

Scott Young
GardaWorld recently announced that Scott Young will lead its residential, commercial and alarm monitoring business lines in Canada as national vice-president, security systems and technology.
Young’s 16 years with the company include roles in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto. Prior to his new position, he was vice-president of the Prairies Region.
“I am extremely excited to be leading GardaWorld’s security systems division nationally as we continue our growth path as Canada’s leading security solutions provider,” said Young in a statement. “The opportunities to further augment our physical security and risk management services with technology are immense and I look forward to helping our talented teams drive innovation for our clients.”
Young holds an MBA from Athabasca University. He was named to SP&T News’ Top 10 Under 40 in 2016 and was the recipient of Canadian Security’s Emerging Leader Award in 2019.
Young has been an active volunteer in various industry associations including past-chair and Young Professionals associate regional vice-president (ARVP) of ASIS International, director with the Southern Alberta Shopping Centre Association and Canadian Security Lifesaver Association, and is the founding president of the Alberta Federation of Security Guard Agencies (AFSGA).
