Garage door, thermostat controls in one
Chamberlain Group, Inc. has announced that its Chamberlain MyQ will be among the earliest products to integrate with Nest through the Nest Developer Program.
As a Works with Nest product, MyQ will allow users to easily and quickly set their Nest Learning Thermostat to “Home” and “Away” modes from within the MyQ app. Additionally, when people open the garage door upon arriving home, MyQ can tell their Nest Thermostat they’re home. When they close the garage door on their way out, the thermostat can go into Away mode so they don’t waste energy heating or cooling an empty home.
MyQ empowers consumers to monitor and control their garage door anytime, anywhere from their smartphones, ensuring their garage door is closed and their home is secure. The garage door is one of the most frequent access points to the home, requiring a level of security that is the foundation of MyQ technology. MyQ is essential to the connected home experience by allowing people to view, open and close their garage door and receive alerts and notifications from anywhere.
“MyQ is designed to give people peace of mind that they’ve closed their garage doors after pulling away, and to open the door to let people in—even from thousands of miles away,” said Cory Sorice, Strategic Business Unit Leader—Connected Products at Chamberlain Group, Inc. “MyQ is built on a powerful and flexible platform that allows us to connect garage door control with the most important home devices to deliver greater security, comfort and energy savings. Whether do-it-yourself or professionally installed, MyQ working with Nest will have people thinking differently—and more confidently—about their homes. In working with Nest, we’re excited to help shape the development and direction of the connected home.”
MyQ is integrated into many Chamberlain garage door openers today, and at retail through MyQ Garage.
