Hébert was president and CEO at HID for 12 years, as well as an executive vice-president for ASSA ABLOY. He has also held executive positions at Honeywell and currently serves as chairman of the board at the Security Industry Association (SIA).

“I am excited to be part of this journey with Feenics, as the access control paradigm shifts to cloud computing, providing a wealth of new service offerings to systems integrators and their customers. In every industry there are evolutions, and the cloud alternative to access control is a significant transformation in physical access management,” said Hébert in a statement.

“We are extremely excited to have Denis join the team and expedite the growth of Feenics,” said Feenics’ founder and CEO Sam Shalaby in a statement. “He understands our go-to-market strategy and will join our day-to-day cadence as we continue to expand Keep in the field. The combined experience of Feenics company management in systems integration and manufacturing will foster further expansion,” he said.

Feenics’ flagship product is Keep, an on-premise or Cloud-hosted access control and security management solution. Earlier this year, during ISC West, Shalaby explained to SP&T News that customers are coming around to the idea that Cloud-based solutions can effectively address some of their security and access control requirements. “They want to know more about it. ‘How do you do it? How does it affect us? Does it help us? What kind of talent do we need on staff?’ You’re helping people and leading them through it. At the end of day, it’s a mindset change. You’ve got to get involved or you’re going to get left behind,” said Shalaby.
