March 15, 2020  By  SP&T Staff

The Canadian Security Association (CANASA) announced it will delay its Security Canada East event scheduled for April 22 in Laval, Que., as a preventative measure against ongoing Coronavirus concerns.

The post states: “The health and well-being of our members, partners and event participants is our highest priority. We have been monitoring Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates from the Quebec Provincial Government closely. Based on recent announcements limiting gatherings of more than 250 participants, our venue has advised that we must postpone our Security Canada East trade show that was scheduled for April 22, 2020 at the Sheraton Laval in Laval, Québec.”

According to CANASA, a new date for the event will be announced in the coming weeks. All other Security Canada events are still expected to proceed as originally scheduled. Security Canada East is one of many security industry events that have been cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ISC West recently announced it is moving its dates from March 17-20 to July 20-22. According to its website, distributor ADI is also in the process of rescheduling its expos. A new date for the Toronto expo was recently announced, moving from March 31 to May 12.
