Young people interested in getting involved in the professional security community are invited to submit essays (1,000 – 2,000 words in length) on the topic of daily life in electronic security. Application guidelines also ask for two years of high school transcripts, participation in volunteer activities, plus proof of acceptance into a post-secondary institution.

The scholarship selection committee, made up of CANASA regional council members across Canada, will select up to 10 $1,000 scholarship recipients (one per region) based on the fulfillment of submission criteria and merit. The deadline for submissions is May 1 and awards will be announced June 1.
For more on CANASA’s scholarship program and entry guidelines, visit the CANASA website here.

CANASA is also asking its members to recognize peers who have gone above and beyond in their volunteer activities. CANASA’s Outstanding Contributor Award shines the spotlight on a member who has demonstrated time, commitment and effort; the RA Henderson Award recognizes a person who has continually promoted and contributed positively to the security community over an entire career. CANASA members interested in nominating outstanding achievements can find more information here. The deadline for nominations is May 2.
