Biometric verification for SIM card issuance

Suprema, Inc. has provided its latest version of fingerprint PC security scanner entitled ‘BioMini Slim’ to Kwick High-Tech & Solutions Pvt. Ltd. for Android-based biometric verification system on SIM cards issuance in Pakistan.

BioMini Slim is Suprema’s first model of products run on Android OS, which is specially designed to provide a high level security solution for PC based identity access management solutions. It has a rugged IP65 rated dust and waterproof form factor while maintaining a sleek ergonomic design, and is also equipped with Suprema’s latest 500dpi slim optical sensor, which boasts a large platen size for easy and reliable fingerprints capturing as well as provides Suprema’s advanced LFD (Live Finger Detection), patent in-progress.
 
Kwick High-Tech & Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a Pakistan based firm that specializes in SIM manufacturing and biometric security solutions, has already launched a solution for biometric verification of mobile phone customers, which consists of the android based BioMini Slim which has Kwick’s application running on it, and to obtain the fingerprint of the customer.
 
With biometric verification system in place, before the issuance of new SIM, the thumb impressions of customers are matched with NADRA database to make sure that the person holding the CNIC card is indeed the legitimate individual with correct credentials or not.
 
Suprema has made the first shipment and is expected to additionally provide more devices by stage as it’s estimated that over 75,000 deployments of biometric verification devices will be required at countrywide outlets in Pakistan. It is also expected to be one of the largest deployments of Superma Products with collaboration of Kwick Hightech & Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
