Bowman served on the BICSI board of directors for six years prior to this new role, including the past two years as president-elect. Throughout his 15 years of BICSI membership, he has been a member and Chair of several BICSI committees and was instrumental in the creation and implementation of BICSI’s NxtGEN Program.

Outside of this volunteer position with BICSI, he is the president and chief operating officer of Beacon Enterprise Solutions Group Inc., a company that focuses on the design, implementation and management of high performance ITS infrastructure solutions.

His goals as BICSI president include ensuring the organization operates efficiently and consistently; integrating technology into the delivery of BICSI’s curriculum, testing and publications; and implementing the BICSI Board of Directors Strategic Plan.

“This is a great time to be President of BICSI,” said Bowman. “Our association is strong, financially and operationally sound and more relevant than ever; all at a time when the industry and our stakeholders need our publications, standards, training and credentials more than ever. BICSI will continue to provide the trusted industry leadership for which we’ve become known, adapting to the changes in our industry and the needs of our global membership.”
