Axis Experience Vehicle makes first road trip to Canada
August 9, 2024 By Neil Sutton

Earlier this summer, Axis Communications wrapped up a mini tour of central and eastern Canada, taking its “Axis Experience Vehicle” (AEV) on the road to cities and communities that might not otherwise see the company’s technology first-hand.
Axis exhibits regularly at security conferences and trade shows across Canada, and operates offices with demo and training facilities (known as Axis Experience Centres) in Toronto and Vancouver. But for those who may not have the time or resources to travel, Axis will come to them.
During the month of June, the AEV visited Halifax, Kingston, Quebec City, Ottawa and Montreal.
Axis partners with distributors like Wesco and ADI with branch locations in those cities and will make its AEV available to visitors for an entire day, explained Nathan Drew, national sales manager, Axis Communications Canada.
For the past two years, the AEV has been touring around the U.S. This was its first trip north of the border, and Drew said the turnout has been encouraging. The AEV is equipped with most of Axis’ major software and hardware tools, and also includes integrations with technology partners like Milestone Systems and Genetec — it’s basically a demo space on wheels.
“Feedback has been extremely positive,” said Drew of the Canadian tour. “We do this so we can [reach] those partners that don’t get to typically come to an Axis Experience Centre.”
Visitors to the AEV comprised a mix of end users and integration partners. The best-attended stop was Montreal, where more than 70 people dropped by.
The AEV will return to the U.S. for another tour, likely remaining in the southern states during the winter months. Drew is hopeful that it will come back to Canada next year, possibly to the western provinces.
