The event featured prominent women from the industry, panel discussions and workshops. Topics included promoting your brand, managing work-life balance and the evolution of diversity in the security industry.

The summit kicked off with a keynote speech from Bodil Sonesson, vice president of global sales, Axis Communications. Other notable speakers included Bonnie Michelman, executive director of security, Massachusetts General Hospital; Juliette Kayyem, author, CNN analyst and former homeland security advisor; Betsy Meyers, author, consultant and former White House senior advisor on women’s issues; Kim Landgraf, manager of design and production, Security Industry Association; and Heather Viccione, vice president, physical security manager, Citizens Bank and chair and liaison to the ASIS Women in Security Council.

“We put this event together to ignite the conversation about diversity and inclusion in the security industry — we believe these factors are key to driving industry innovation and growth,” said Fredrik Nilsson, VP, Americas, Axis Communications. “Women have an equal hand in moving the industry forward and creating a smarter, safer world. To that end, it’s essential to provide a dedicated forum that encourages dialogue and generates new ideas.”
