ASSA ABLOY has announced two new acquisitions — VHS in Turkey and Control iD in São Paulo, Brazil.
Control iD is a developer of hardware and software solutions for access control and time & attendance in Brazil.
The company has been operating in Brazil since 2006 and currently employs approximately 300 people. ASSA ABLOY’s executive vice president and head of the Americas division, Lucas Boselli, expressed that Control iD’s biometric technologies, especially facial recognition, will serve to fill several gaps in the company’s existing portfolio.
“I am excited for them to become a part of ASSA ABLOY,” said Boselli in a statement.
In Turkey, the company has also signed another agreement to acquire VHS Plastik Metal, a manufacturer of hardware systems for windows and doors.
ASSA ABLOY president and CEO Nico Delvaux described the acquisition of VHS Plastik Metal as an important step in the company’s strategy to gain market leadership in emerging markets.
VHS was established in 1997. Approximately 440 employees work at the manufacturer, which holds its main office and factory in Silivri.
