Alex Housten Joins dormakaba Americas as COO

Alex Housten has joined dormakaba as the designated new chief operating officer for Access Solutions AMER, which includes businesses in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America. As such, he will serve as a member of the dormakaba Group Executive Committee.

Housten will be based in the company’s Americas headquarters in Indianapolis.

“The dormakaba portfolio includes some of the most trusted solutions in the access control market,” Housten said in a prepared statement. “I’m honored to join the rest of dormakaba’s talented, forward-thinking team of professionals as a steward for our customers.”

Before joining dormakaba, Housten held progressive leadership positions at Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).

“Alex has had an outstanding track record at UTC,” said Riet Cadonau, chairman and CEO, dormakaba Group in a company statement. “We are very much looking forward to his contributions as a member of our leadership team.”
